Grace follows a lot of Autism stuff on Facebook, and they’re usually full of people posting benal things like “My house isn’t messy I have Autistic children” or some shit like that, like those people who talk about their Autistic children like they’re special snowflakes and it just, it pisses her off, because she’s never let the fact that I have Asperger’s define our relationship. I’m who I am, and it’s part of who I am, I’m no more special or significant because I’m Autistic. And today we were taking the piss out of that kind of pedestal attitude and she said I was a special snowflake that had to be wrapped up in a little bubble to keep me safe and unique. And so she drew that. TL;DR: Grace doesn’t treat me as more or less of a person because I’m Autistic and I love her to death.
